Head of “Turkmengaz” took part in GECF summit in Moscow

Maksat Babayev, State Minister of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengaz," participated in the eighth summit of the heads of state and government of the member countries of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event took place at the World Trade Center in Moscow. Turkmenistan participated in the summit as a guest.

Summit participants discussed the role of natural gas in ensuring global energy security, as well as ways to further strengthen cooperation to guarantee reliable supplies of this fuel to global markets.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted that the country possesses one of the world’s largest natural gas resource bases and consistently pursues a balanced energy policy. This policy integrates responsible resource development, modern infrastructure, gas processing, petrochemical production, technological innovation, and sustainable economic development.

As emphasized, the foundation of Turkmenistan’s long-term energy strategy lies in expanding production capacities, strengthening export potential, and creating opportunities for broad international cooperation through the diversification of energy supplies.

The Moscow Declaration was adopted following the GECF summit.
