Representatives from Turkmenistan participated in the World Summit, "Investing in Child Well-being: A Path to Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations," which took place on October 21–22 in Samarkand.

Representatives from more than 100 countries took part in the summit, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The program included an opening ceremony, plenary sessions, three specialized sessions, the II International Congress on Childhood Cancer, as well as other related events and visits to various institutions.

The summit served as an important platform for dialogue, facilitating the exchange of international experience, the discussion of cutting-edge approaches, and the strengthening of practical cooperation in the areas of child rights protection, social welfare, healthcare, education, and early childhood development. Special attention was devoted to issues concerning the protection of children, improving the quality of medical care, increasing investment in this area, and ensuring access to education and social protection for children.

Within the framework of the summit, an exhibition was held based on the concept "The World Through the Eyes of a Child," featuring 13 thematic sections and interactive zones.

The summit was organized at the initiative of Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative on Violence against Children, UNICEF, the World Health Organization, and the World Bank.

The Samarkand Declaration was adopted following the World Summit.
