This was announced by the German Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Petra Dachtler, speaking on October 3 in Ashgabat at a reception marking the Day of German Unity.

According to data cited by the diplomat, 63 thousand people in Turkmenistan are studying German. Classes are held at the country's universities as well as at the DIL language center.

In addition, two schools belonging to the PASCH network operate in Turkmenistan, offering in-depth German language studies. Students can receive scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). A number of partnership programs with universities are also being implemented.

The ambassador noted that political, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries have strengthened over the 35 years of diplomatic relations.
