Turkmenistan's industrial value added grew by 8,2% in 2025

In 2025, the value added by Turkmenistan’s industrial sector grew by 8,2% compared to 2024, accounting for 30% of the country's GDP. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Babaniyaz Yalakov at the Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF-2026) in Ashgabat.

According to him, the country's industrial production volumes are growing year by year. Yalakov noted that Turkmenistan's economy is undergoing a transformation, shifting away from a reliance on raw materials toward industrial and innovative development. Over the past decade, a phased transition has been underway toward establishing new industrial value chains and producing and exporting finished industrial goods.

The deputy minister stated that the country has begun establishing a national gas processing industry: a gasoline production plant has been built, and the production of polyethylene and polypropylene has been launched. In recent years, new chemical production facilities have been commissioned to manufacture ammonia, urea, and other products using natural gas as feedstock. According to him, the primary focus is on the deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials and the implementation of new technologies.

An investment forum is taking place in Ashgabat on October 1–2. It is attended by more than 750 delegates from 50 countries, including representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, international financial organizations, and the private sector.
