Turkmenistan's gross domestic product is projected to grow by 6,3% in 2026. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced this at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty, TDH reports.
"As a result of increased production across economic sectors, the gross domestic product growth rate is being maintained at the targeted level. This macroeconomic indicator is expected to reach 6,3% by the end of the year," the statement says.
According to the head of state, special attention is being paid to modernizing the financial market and improving employment within the framework of the Concept for the Development of Turkmenistan’s Labor Market through 2030.
"Through the construction of new facilities and the reconstruction of existing ones, the number of jobs created by the end of the year will reach approximately 5,300. We will continue our efforts to significantly improve the citizen employment system in accordance with the aforementioned concept," emphasized Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The Head of Turkmenistan added that the volume of capital investments to be utilized by the end of the year for the country's development—under the "Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan and Investments for 2026"—will exceed 41,2 billion manats, creating the conditions for the construction and modernization of industrial and social infrastructure facilities.
