The opening ceremony for the second phase of the construction of the city of Arkadag will take place in 2027. This was announced by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, TDH reports.

“The opening ceremony of the second stage of construction of the city of Arkadag will be a significant event in 2027. You need to start preparing for this holiday today. "An organizing committee should be established to hold the opening ceremony for the second phase of the city of Arkadag at a high level, and consistent work should be carried out based on concrete plans," said Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his address at a regular meeting of the People's Council (Halk Maslahaty) of Turkmenistan.

According to the National Leader, the city of Arkadag, built at the foot of the Kopetdag Mountains, is a major urban development project showcasing the country's achievements in modern urban planning. He noted that the digital technologies and innovative solutions implemented in the city contribute to improving the citizens' standard of living.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced that a pilot solar power plant project is currently being implemented in the country's first "smart" city. Plans are in place to subsequently extend this experience to other cities across the country, including Ashgabat.

The head of the Halk Maslahaty also reported that, in addition to residential buildings, facilities for the production of food products, as well as industrial, pharmaceutical, and medical goods, are being constructed during the second phase of Arkadag's development.
