Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has launched the "Direct Umrah" digital service, allowing pilgrims to book Umrah packages online from approved providers. This was announced in a statement released on September 15, 2026.

The service is designed for both pilgrims already in Saudi Arabia and those arriving from abroad. It provides access to packages through authorized travel platforms. Participating companies include ShareTrip, Wakanow, Bookme, Wego, and Almatar. Users can browse packages for Umrah and visits to holy sites, as well as review services, pricing, and terms before booking.

Both Umrah-only and comprehensive packages are available. The latter may include the visa, airfare, accommodation in Mecca and Medina, meals, intercity transport, and an accompanying guide. The specific services included depend on the chosen package. Booking is completed digitally via the selected platform.

Abdulmohsen Al-Salem, Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, also previously mentioned the expansion of direct booking access via approved online platforms, noting that no new requirements for performing Umrah in the country have been introduced, reports Asharq Al-Awsat.
