Ramzan Kadyrov has been re-elected as Head of the Chechen Republic. With 98,71% of the ballots processed, he received 99,85% of the vote, RBC reports.

Kadyrov has led the republic since 2007. This marks his third direct election to the post. In 2021, he secured 99,7% of the vote with a turnout of 94,61%, while in 2016, he received 97,94% with a turnout of 94,8%.

The incumbent regional head’s rivals in the election were Ismail Denilkhanov, Chairman of the Civic Chamber of Chechnya (nominated by the A Just Russia party), and regional parliament deputy Khalid Nakaev (nominated by the CPRF).
