Representatives of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan (NRCST) participated in the II Volunteer Camp and experience-sharing program organized by the Turkic Red Network (TRN) Secretariat with the support of the Turkish Red Crescent.

Representatives from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Hungary, Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye participated in the forum.

The NOCPT delegation included three active volunteers from the Balkan and Lebap velayats and the city of Ashgabat, as well as two staff members.

The volunteer camp took place on Heybeliada Island from August 31 to September 5, while the experience-exchange program was held in Istanbul from September 6 to 12.

The aim of the camp was to strengthen the leadership and skills of volunteers, as well as to strengthen cooperation between National Societies. The intensive program included seminars and practical classes on topics related to providing assistance to victims of emergency situations.

One day at dawn, all members of the delegations were awakened by the sound of a siren. According to the simulation scenario, an earthquake had occurred. The roles of each team member had been studied in advance, so everyone knew their functions and acted in a coordinated and efficient manner. Some provided basic first aid, others worked in the emergency control center, while others set up tents for the victims, organized meals, and so on—demonstrating in practice the skills they had thoroughly mastered.

In the evenings, each delegation showcased its country's national culture and traditions and described the activities of its national Red Crescent society.

Participants particularly remembered the presentation by the Turkmenistan delegation on Ahal-Teke horses, dedicated to the year themed "Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan: Home of Spirited Winged Horses" and the country's 35th anniversary of independence. Volunteers from the National Organization of Ahal-Teke Horse Breeding of Turkmenistan spoke about the beauty and noble bearing of the purebred Ahal-Teke horses, as well as the folk traditions associated with them.

A practice-oriented experience-sharing program focused on emergency preparedness and response was designed exclusively for staff members of National Societies. Participants had the opportunity to gain practical insight into emergency preparedness and response activities, exchange experiences in volunteering, and explore best practices in disaster risk reduction and enhancing community resilience.
