Yesterday, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanova, met with members of a delegation from the Republic of Moldova led by the Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, Petru Burduja. This was reported on the Mejlis website.

During the meeting, the guests were briefed on the key aspects of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy—grounded in the principles of positive neutrality, peace, trust, equality, and humanism—as well as the composition of the parliament and the work being done to provide the legislative framework for the large-scale socio-economic reforms underway across various sectors.

During the conversation, it was emphasized that inter-parliamentary dialogue has become an important part of the partnership between the two countries and that the inter-parliamentary friendship groups established on a bilateral basis are expanding opportunities for the exchange of experience in legislative work.

An exchange of views also took place regarding the state of relations between the two countries in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as the importance of joining efforts to strengthen mutual trust and expand the scope of friendly cooperation.

The parties expressed their readiness to continue supporting mutually beneficial interstate cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and trust through parliamentary diplomacy.
