Turkmenistan has announced the results of the national university rankings for the 2025–2026 academic year

On September 12, the results of the national ranking assessment of higher education institutions, faculties, departments, and teaching staff for the 2025–2026 academic year were announced in Turkmenistan. Based on the evaluation results, the top performers were identified and presented with diplomas of the corresponding grades and commemorative gifts.

The best individual result among the faculty was achieved by Nurmuhammet Gurbanmammedov, Head of the Department of Mathematical Analysis at Magtymguly Turkmen State University and Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, who scored 505.52 points. He was awarded the honorary title "Teacher of the Year 2026."

Lecturers at the International University for the Humanities and Development Pirmyrat Gurbanov and Musa Yazymov were also awarded a First-Class Diploma and the same honorary title.

In the departmental rankings, which took into account the average score per faculty member, the Department of Exact and Natural Sciences at the International University for the Humanities and Development achieved the best result.Among the faculties, the Faculty of Information and Technology of the same university took the lead. In the overall ranking of the country's higher education institutions, the Turkmen State Institute of Finance secured first place.

The ranking assessment was conducted with the support of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, taking into account the methodological approaches of leading international ranking organizations—Times Higher Education (THE), QS World University Rankings, and Shanghai Ranking.The ministry notes that the results obtained demonstrate the continuous improvement of the academic and pedagogical work of faculty members and the development of the national higher education system in accordance with international standards.
