Neda Berger, President of the Austrian-Turkmen Society, called Ahal-Teke horses "symbols of the era" and "messengers of peace." She made this statement during her speech at the World Equestrian Championships and Ahal-Teke Beauty Contest, which took place from September 4 to 6 at the Pilbergen Equestrian Center in the Netherlands.

According to Berger, Ahal-Teke horses are a symbol of friendship and goodwill in modern cultural diplomacy. The championship, held under the 2026 motto "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of the Purposeful Winged Steeds," will increase the international community's interest in Turkmenistan.

She noted that the Ahal-Teke breed is a unique heritage of Turkmenistan, having preserved its original appearance. Berger emphasized the endurance, loyalty, and grace of these horses, calling them "a true member of the Turkmen family." She particularly highlighted the inclusion of the art of Ahal-Teke horse breeding and horse decoration traditions on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2023.

The President of the Austrian-Turkmen Society also drew a parallel between Austria and Turkmenistan: both countries enjoy permanent neutrality and are deeply committed to their renowned horse breeds—the Ahal-Teke and Lipizzan. The emblem of the Austrian-Turkmen Society depicts these two breeds.

Berger praised the performances of the “Galkynyş” National Equestrian Games Group, noting their success at international festivals in Monte Carlo, including the Grand Prix and certificates from the World Circus Federation.

The World Equestrian Championship and Ahal-Teke Beauty Contest took place from September 4-6 at the Pilbergen Equestrian Center in Cronenberg, the Netherlands. This was the first championship of this scale held outside of Turkmenistan. More than 100 horses from various countries took part. In addition to the competition and beauty pageant, the program included an open meeting of the International Ahal-Teke Horse Breeding Association, a scientific conference, and an exhibition of Turkmen culture.
