Scientist-archaeologist of Turkmenistan, well-known expert medieval ceramicist Nurgozel Bashimova celebrated her 80th anniversary.

On this occasion, a celebratory meeting was held at the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, where the anniversary is headed by the Department of Archaeology. Colleagues and scientists warmly congratulated her with almost half a century of fruitful scientific activity, emphasizing the archaeologist's significant contribution to the study of national history and the development of the succession of generations, according to the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".

After graduating from Magtymguly TSU in 1972, Nurgozel Bashimova started her career at the Institute of History. Her first mentors in field archeology were famous archaeologists Egen Atagarriev and Galina Pugachenkova. During her scientific activity, the researcher took part in various excavations of ancient monuments, including Shekhrislam, Dehistan, Old Nisu, Ancient Merv and Parizdepe. He also cooperated with international expeditions.

The study of medieval ceramics became the main direction of N. Bashimova's scientific work, and she is known as a leading expert in Central Asia in this field.

The scientist was also actively engaged in scientific journalism: she is the author of many monographs.

For his contribution to science, he was awarded the state medals "Khairat" and "Magtymguly Fragi".
