The heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Netherlands held a meeting in The Hague

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Tom Berendsen in The Hague, during which the parties discussed the development of bilateral relations and the regional agenda, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.

"During the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the progressive development of Turkmen-Dutch relations and expressed their interest in further expansion of political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation," the message says.

The parties exchanged opinions on topical issues of the regional and international agenda. The Turkmen side emphasized adherence to the principles of permanent neutrality, the UN Charter and political-diplomatic methods of solving international issues.

Within the framework of the discussion of the trade and economic agenda, Meredov and Berendsen reviewed the prospects for the activation of business relations in such areas as transport and logistics, port infrastructure, agriculture and agrotechnology, energy, high technologies and industrial cooperation. The interest in expanding direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries is separately emphasized.

Attention was paid to cooperation in the field of education and training of diplomatic personnel, including cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Dutch Institute of International Relations "Klingendaal".

The heads of foreign political departments also discussed the upcoming World Championship of Ahal-Teke horses in the Netherlands and the international equestrian competitions, which will be held on September 4-6 at the “Pilbergen” equestrian complex.

The Dutch side welcomed the holding of this large-scale event, dedicated to Ahal-Teke horses and traditions of Turkmen horse breeding.
