Traffic police officers urged drivers in Ashgabat to obey speed limits

Respect for traffic rules and mutual courtesy on the road help preserve the lives and health of all road users, said Police Major Magtymguly Annagulyev, Deputy Head of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, in an appeal to residents and visitors of the capital.

According to him, every driver must strictly adhere to established speed limits and resist the temptation to exceed the speed limit. Equally important, the traffic police officer emphasized, is mutual courtesy and respect among road users—both drivers and pedestrians.

To enforce speed limits, video surveillance points have been installed on Ashgabat's avenues and streets, recording vehicle speeds. This, it is noted, allows for the timely detection of violations and the prevention of potential traffic accidents.

"Road safety is the peace of our lives," the Ministry of Internal Affairs representative emphasized, wishing all residents and visitors of the capital a safe journey.
