Turkmenistan has been invited to consider opening a branch of a Georgian university. This was announced by the country's Ministry of Education following a meeting in Ashgabat between Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Mammedov and Georgian Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Givi Mikanadze.

As noted in the statement, the Georgian delegation's visit was a continuation of the dialogue that began in July of this year in Tbilisi during the official visit of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Georgia.

In addition to the initiative to open a branch of the university, the Georgian side proposed expanding educational opportunities for Turkmen students at Georgian higher education institutions, organizing an educational exhibition in Turkmenistan with the participation of Georgian universities, and exploring options for supporting and funding joint research projects.

The Turkmen side, in turn, informed its partners about reforms in higher and general secondary education, the introduction of digital technologies and artificial intelligence capabilities into the educational process, and the development of scientific research in the country.

The parties also discussed the organization of mutual summer camps, the expansion of student exchanges, and meetings of young scientists. Separately, the intention was noted to establish a Turkmen-Georgian working group on cooperation in the field of education at the level of deputy ministers, which will examine joint initiatives and coordinate the agreements reached.

Following the talks, the parties confirmed their readiness to further develop cooperation in the fields of education, science, and youth policy.
