A recent meeting of writers and poets from TURKSOY member states in Andijan, Uzbekistan, was an important event in strengthening literary ties. Akmyrat Rejepov, Deputy Head of the Creative Workers' Department at the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, also participated. This was reported on the Ministry of Culture's website.

The meeting, timed to coincide with the proclamation of the city of Andijan as the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" in 2026, was jointly organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture, the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, and the Andijan Regional Administration.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan Minkhodjiddin Mirzo. The meeting was attended by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Rayev, Chairman of the TURKSOY Writers' Union Ulugbek Esdovlet, Rector of the Ankara University of Social Sciences, writer Musa Kazim Arican, Chairman of the Turkish Writers' Union Muhammet Enes Kala, Chairman of the Writers' Union of the Kyrgyz Republic Kanibek Imanaliev, Deputy Chairman of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Azerbaijan Salim Babulla oglu, Deputy Chairman of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan Beibit Saribay, Deputy Chairman of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayrat Majidov, as well as writers and poets.

Participants discussed projects to develop literary cooperation between writers and poets from TURKSOY member countries, the creation of a common digital literary platform, an electronic library, and an information system about writers. They also considered the preservation and promotion of literary heritage and its translation into world languages.

Proposals were made for joint participation in international book fairs, literary festivals, and cultural events. Proposals for the TURKSOY Writers' Union's work plan for 2027 were discussed.

That same afternoon, a conference dedicated to the literary legacy of renowned Turkish poet Ziya Gökalp was held at the Andijan State Medical Institute, commemorating the declaration of 2026 as the "Year of Ziya Gökalp" by TURKSOY. At the conclusion of the meeting, several participants received letters of gratitude from the Writers' Union of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
