At the first-ever meeting of the unicameral parliament, deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan unanimously elected Aibek Dadebay as Chairman.

Dadebay's candidacy for this post was nominated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in accordance with Article 57 of the Constitution. All deputies present supported the head of state's proposal.

Aibek Dadebay leads the “Әділет” party, which won the majority of seats in the Kurultai (parliament) following the August 23 elections—110 out of 145. From 2024 to 2026, he served as head of the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan.
