On August 26, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan, Lee Won-jae, visited the Turkmenbashy oil processing complex (TOPC).

According to the embassy's social media posts, the diplomat met with TOPC Director Dovran Chishiyev.

During the talks, the parties exchanged views on cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Turkmenistan in the oil refining industry and the activities of Korean companies in the country. The ambassador expressed hope for increased participation by Korean companies in modernization and maintenance projects at the Turkmenbashy oil processing complex.

The ambassador also met with representatives of Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology (KSIT) and Yuhan Tech. During the conversation, he learned about the progress of their projects and discussed issues arising during their operations in Turkmenistan.

"The Embassy will continue to provide the necessary assistance for the successful implementation of their activities and the further expansion of the presence of Korean companies in Turkmenistan," the Ambassador stated.

During his visit, Lee Won-jae toured the production facilities of the TOPC.
