On September 1, 2026, the next Road Safety Month campaign will begin in all regions of Turkmenistan under the motto "Road Safety – Peace of Mind." This will be the twelfth time the event has been held since its inception.

The tradition of holding the month was established on the basis of a proposal voiced on June 7, 2013, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Within the framework of the month, ministries and industry agencies across the country are organizing thematic conferences and seminars for drivers and pedestrians aimed at increasing their awareness of road safety issues. A number of educational events are planned for schools, universities, and businesses.

With the start of the school year, special attention will be paid to areas near schools, kindergartens, and higher education institutions: eco-bicycle teams from the road supervision service will begin patrolling near educational institutions, and traffic police patrols will be increased to ensure compliance with traffic rules in these areas.

Road safety in the country is regulated by the Law of Turkmenistan "On Road Safety." Violators of these rules are held accountable in accordance with the Code of Turkmenistan "On Administrative Offenses."
