Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented US President Donald Trump with traditional Uzbek ivans, which are planned to be installed in West Potomac Park in Washington, D.C., according to US Department of the Interior spokesperson Kathy Martin.

In recent days, trucks carrying large crates delivered from Tashkent have been spotted in the park. The aivans—traditional pavilions with carved wooden trim found in Uzbek parks—are scheduled to open to visitors this fall.

West Potomac Park has been selected as the site for the Trump administration's planned National Garden of American Heroes. The project calls for the installation of approximately 250 life-size statues of famous Americans, along with swimming pools, recreation areas, and an amphitheater. However, it is still in the development stage and awaits federal approval.

The gift comes amidst intensifying economic relations between Uzbekistan and the United States. In June, the countries accelerated negotiations on a trade and investment agreement, and earlier, Trump and Mirziyoyev announced commercial agreements worth 32 billion USD.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan agreed to reduce or eliminate tariffs on a number of American industrial and agricultural goods. The United States, in turn, expressed its willingness to favorably consider Uzbek products when making tariff decisions.
