Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have signed a Treaty on Eternal Friendship

Following high-level talks, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev, signed the Treaty on Eternal Friendship as well as the decision of the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council. The signing ceremony for the bilateral documents took place after the conclusion of the heads of state's negotiations.

Agreements on cooperation in the fields of pensions, culture, and tourism were also signed in the presence of the presidents. The parties approved a program to increase trade turnover between the two countries to 1 billion USD by 2030, as well as an action plan for implementing agreements on investment and trade.

In addition, cooperation programs for 2027–2028 were signed between the two countries' ministries of foreign affairs and ministries of justice, as well as a memorandum on the exchange of experience and cooperation in the field of canine services.

A separate section covered the protocols establishing sister-city relations between the cities of Urgench and Khankendi, Bukhara and Lachin, as well as Urgench and Nakhchivan.
