On August 19, a meeting was held in New York between the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN, Vepa Hajiyev, and the Director of the Office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to the UN, Pär Liljert.

During the meeting, the parties focused on strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and IOM and discussed promising areas of joint work. They also touched upon current events in the region, as well as humanitarian and migration policy issues.
