Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov met with the newly appointed Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the city of Mary, Seyed Mostafa Hosseinipour, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.

At the beginning of the meeting, the consul general presented a consular patent, and in response, the leadership of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry presented him with a consular exequatur.

The parties discussed current issues of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation, as well as prospects for the further development of friendly and good-neighborly relations between the two countries.

The Iranian Consul General assured that he would make every effort to strengthen bilateral relations and intensify consular cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran.
