The current Chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, plans to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan. He announced this on his social media page.

According to Cassis, the visit to Turkmenistan will be a continuation of his regional tour, which began with a trip to Azerbaijan.

"I am pleased to be making my first official visit to Azerbaijan. Switzerland values its partnership with Azerbaijan. We strive to deepen cooperation in trade, innovation, and economic ties, while promoting dialogue, peace, stability, and prosperity in the South Caucasus as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office. This visit marks the beginning of a broader regional tour. Next up is Turkmenistan," Cassis wrote.

Switzerland will chair the OSCE in 2026.
