The National Agency for Prospective Projects (NAPP) of Uzbekistan has issued the first bookmaking licenses to two companies registered in the country, according to information posted on the agency's website.

The NAPP website's license registry lists two companies—Olimpbet LLC and Aurum Vale LLC—as having received the regulator's permission to organize bookmaking operations and conduct risk-based games online. Each of them was issued two licenses for a period of five years, until July 30, 2031. According to the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations, both companies are registered in Tashkent, and their founders are individuals.

Attempts to legalize the activities of bookmakers and gambling in Uzbekistan have been made repeatedly since 2019. In April 2024, the country's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree allowing companies engaged in such activities to operate in the country from January 1, 2025. However, to date, no license has been issued.

To obtain a license, bookmakers must establish authorized capital of at least 150 thousand basic units (approximately 5 million USD) and maintain a reserve fund of 75 thousand basic units (approximately 2,5 million USD) in banks. The company must be a resident of Uzbekistan and host its electronic platform on servers within the country.

Bookmakers and operators of gambling-based games are prohibited from paying out winnings to individuals under 18 years of age or from operating brick-and-mortar gaming halls. They are also prohibited from accepting bets on local events, including sporting events and political processes.
