The UAZ automaker has officially adopted the popular name of its legendary vehicle. The SGR (Old Cargo Row) family of vehicles is now called "Bukhanka," as confirmed by the company's website.

The new name has already been added to the automaker's price lists, brochures, and accessory catalogs, according to Avto.ru Magazine. The model is available in five trim levels: a bus, a cargo van, a kombi, and a flatbed truck version with single- or double-cab configurations.

Back in April 2026, UAZ filed applications with Rospatent to register several trademarks, including "UAZ Bukhanka" – in both Cyrillic and Latin spellings (UAZ Bukhanka), “Izvestia” wrote.

As the company has now informed the publication, the official registration process for the "Bukhanka" trademark has already begun. Beginning July 31, 2026, the iconic name of the Ulyanovsk classic will be featured in the automaker's corporate communications materials.
