During a government meeting, Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova reported on the parliament's work for January-July of this year, TDH reported.

According to her, seven legislative acts were adopted during the reporting period, including a law establishing a commemorative medal in honor of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, as well as 12 parliamentary resolutions. In addition, amendments and additions have been made to current legislation in terms of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, ensuring industrial safety at production facilities, improving accounting and financial reporting, licensing certain types of activities, highways, environmental protection, conservation of aquatic biological resources, and migration policy.

As Gulmanova noted, the Mejlis also received seven credentials from ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of foreign states accredited in Turkmenistan. During the reporting period, 25 meetings were held with representatives of foreign parliaments, diplomatic missions, and international organizations to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation. Members of parliament and members of the Mejlis staff participated in 82 seminars organized by the country's ministries and agencies in conjunction with international organizations, and also made 16 foreign trips to exchange legislative experience.

In summing up, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of further work to strengthen the country's legal framework and improve legislative activity in light of modern realities.
