ImdatBot educational center student Kurambay Matsapayev won a gold medal at the international robotics competition in Australia, representing Turkmenistan.

Matsapayev departed Ashgabat on July 4 and returned home as a winner on July 16. The XCEL Global competition took place from July 9 to 14.

The journey to the international stage began in the spring. In March, ImdatBot entered seven teams into the XCEL qualifying round: Ecobotix, DM-Robotics, Line-Storm (comprising Ayhan Orazdurdiyev, Kurambay Matsapayev, and Shamuhammet Kuliyev), APEX, SS-Line, Shadow Racers, and Dragon Labs. Five teams won gold, and two more—Shadow Racers and Dragon Labs—won silver. The awards ceremony took place in Ashgabat in April.

Kurambay Matsapaev, a representative of the Line-Storm team, qualified for the international stage in Australia and took first place on the podium.

This is the ImdatBot center's third international success in the past year. In May, the center's students represented Turkmenistan at the Robotek Grand Tournament Astana 2026 in Kazakhstan, where over 300 participants from 10 countries competed for the title. Then, Leysan Zhumageldiyeva received a free education at the Kazakh-British Technical University, and Tigran Melkumyan and Nuryagdy Bayriev won in the "Innovative Technologies" category (for more details, see the Turkmenportal article). A year earlier, in 2025, ImdatBot students also won gold and silver medals at the XCEL International Olympiad in Los Angeles.

The ImdatBot educational center has been operating in Ashgabat since 2019 and is an official partner of educational robotics manufacturer Makeblock. Students are trained using STEAM methods and undergo internal qualifying rounds, followed by participation in international competitions.
