Turkmen-Turkish political consultations were held in Ankara

Yesterday, political consultations were held in Ankara at the level of heads of departments of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Türkiye. The Turkmen side was headed by the head of the Middle East Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, I. Amanlyev, and the Turkish side was led by Togan Oral, head of the General Directorate for Central Asian Affairs and the Organization of Turkic States of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the further development of political and diplomatic relations, expanding interparliamentary cooperation, improving the legal framework for bilateral cooperation, and current consular matters of mutual interest, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. It was particularly emphasized that reciprocal high-level visits are a fundamental factor in the development of Turkmen-Turkish relations.

The parties discussed issues of developing partnerships in the areas of trade, energy, transport, and construction, and expressed mutual interest in further developing cultural dialogue and cooperation in science, education, sports, and healthcare.

During a visit to Ankara, the Turkmen delegation met with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Ayşe Berris Ekinci. The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening Turkmen-Turkish relations.
