Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ravshanbek Alimov, stated that Tashkent is interested in developing cross-border tourist routes with Turkmenistan. He made this announcement at a briefing on July 23.
"Uzbekistan is interested in developing cooperation with Central Asian countries to promote joint tourism routes. Turkmenistan occupies a special place here. We see great potential in creating cross-border tourism routes," the ambassador noted.
As an example, he cited the route "Khiva - Kukhna Urgench - Ashgabat - Mary - Bukhara", which, according to him, could unite the historical and cultural attractions of the two countries within the framework of a single tourist product.
We previously reported data on the growth of tourist flow from Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan for 2025 and the first half of 2026.
