Uzbek Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ravshanbek Alimov announced that 370 thousand tourists from Turkmenistan visited Uzbekistan in 2025. The announcement was made on July 23 during the annual briefing on the development of Uzbekistan's tourism industry, held at the Uzbek Embassy in Ashgabat.

In total, 11,7 million foreign tourists arrived in Uzbekistan last year—3,7 million, or almost 47%, more than the previous year, according to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan. The leading countries by number of visitors were Kyrgyzstan (3,3 million), Tajikistan and Kazakhstan (2,7 million each), Russia (approximately 1 million), and Afghanistan (477 thousand).

The ambassador also reported that in the first six months of 2026, tourist flow from Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan totaled 164 thousand people. In total, over 6,6 million foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan during this period, which is 1,3 million people (25%) more than the same period last year.

The list of countries with the largest number of tourists for the first half of 2026 also included Kyrgyzstan (1,88 million), Kazakhstan (1,55 million), Tajikistan (1,47 million), Russia (586 thousand), Afghanistan (239 thousand) and China (223 thousand).
