A delegation from Turkmenistan, including representatives of the Mejlis and relevant government agencies, learned about the People's Republic of China's experience in joining the World Trade Organization from July 5 to 21, 2026. A training seminar was held in the Chinese cities of Beijing, Fuxin, and Fuzhou, according to the press service of the national parliament.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. Its aim was to facilitate Turkmenistan's efforts to join the World Trade Organization, exchange experiences in international trade, and improve the qualifications and awareness of Turkmen specialists. The main venue for the seminar was the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing.

The Turkmen delegation was presented with China's experience accumulated in the process of joining the WTO and protecting national interests within the organization, as well as modern approaches to managing free economic zones.

During the event, the parties also discussed issues of bringing Turkmenistan's national legislation into line with international trade standards and WTO agreements, implementing the tasks facing the country's parliament, and strengthening the role of parliamentary diplomacy in this area.

It is noted that studying the Chinese experience will help strengthen international trade and economic ties of Turkmenistan, improve the regulatory framework within the framework of the process of accession to the WTO and promote economic reforms in the country.
