President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Xiaojun Grace Wang, who presented her credentials to the head of state.
As the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports, the President noted with satisfaction the consistent and highly effective nature of cooperation with the UN, emphasizing that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening peace and effectively using the capabilities of preventive diplomacy. The country consistently comes up with important initiatives aimed at ensuring energy security, developing transport and transit corridors and protecting the environment. These initiatives are receiving widespread support in the international arena.
As Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, over the years of long-term partnership based on country programs, joint projects in the field of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in the country have been successfully implemented and continue to be implemented. Currently, interaction is carried out within the framework of the Framework Program for Cooperation in the Field of Sustainable Development between the Government of Turkmenistan and the UN for 2026 - 2030. Environmental protection is one of the priority areas.
In turn, the diplomat emphasized that it was a great honor for her to represent the UN in Turkmenistan, assuring that she would make every effort to further develop an effective partnership.
