Chairman of the Korean-Turkmen Interparliamentary Friendship Group, Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Choi Hyun-doo, and Chairman of the Korean-Azerbaijani Interparliamentary Friendship Group, Member of the National Assembly Lee Man-hee, visited Turkmenistan on July 16-17. This was reported by the press service of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ashgabat.
According to the diplomatic mission, during the visit, Korean parliamentarians met with the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova and the Chairman of the Turkmen-Korean Interparliamentary Friendship Group, the head of the Mejlis Committee on International and Interparliamentary Relations Maksat Kulyev. A meeting was also held with Baymyrat Annamammedov, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan for Energy, Construction, and Industry. The deputies also held talks with representatives of Korean companies operating in Turkmenistan.
Choi Hyun-doo noted that the “Republic of Korea – Central Asia” summit scheduled for September will be an important step towards further strengthening bilateral relations, and expressed hope for continued support for the activities of Korean companies in Turkmenistan, the statement said.
