The 65th meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan on Caspian Sea Issues was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the ministry's press service reported.

The 65th meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan on Caspian Sea Issues was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the ministry's press service reported. In addition, the participants discussed draft documents related to the Caspian Environmental Summit, which is planned to be held in October 2026 in the “Awaza” National Tourist Zone.

Speakers noted the constructive nature of Turkmenistan's cooperation with authoritative international organizations on Caspian Sea issues. As emphasized, by acceding to a number of UN international conventions in the field of environmental protection, Turkmenistan consistently fulfills its international obligations in the area of sustainable development and environmental protection, and also develops interaction with the international community in this area.

In addition, the meeting discussed issues of preparation and organizational aspects of events dedicated to Caspian Sea Day.

Particular attention was paid to further improving the activities of the Interdepartmental Commission on a scientific basis, as well as expanding cooperation with international organizations in this area.
