Turkmenistan is interested in Georgia's experience in tourism development

Turkmenistan is interested in leveraging Georgia's experience to develop its tourism industry. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov while speaking in Tbilisi at the Georgian-Turkmen Business Forum, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

"Turkmenistan is interested in Georgia's experience in developing tourism and the service sector," the statement said.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also noted Georgia's high performance in tourism in 2025, noting that Turkmenistan intends to adopt this experience.

According to Georgian media, more than 5,5 million tourists visited the country in 2025. As Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Irakli Nadareishvili noted, tourism accounts for approximately 10% of Georgia's GDP, provides approximately 9% of employment, and accounts for nearly 60% of the country's service exports.
