On July 16, he met with Gilles Bertrand, the EU Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Head of the Afghanistan and Pakistan Section of the European External Action Service, according to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry. The two discussed current issues of cooperation in Afghanistan. The Turkmen side reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to provide humanitarian aid to the Afghan people, implementing transport and energy projects with Afghanistan's participation, and expanding practical cooperation with the European Union within the framework of existing mechanisms, including consultations of special representatives, as well as the CADAP and BOMCA regional programs. Particular attention was paid to the coordination of international efforts with the central role of the United Nations, including interaction within the framework of the UN Doha process, in order to promote sustainable socio-economic development of Afghanistan and strengthen regional security.
