Today France celebrates its national holiday – Bastille Day.

On this occasion, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent sincere congratulations and best wishes to President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron and the people of the country.

Taking the opportunity, the head of the Turkmen state expressed his wishes for good health and happiness to President Emmanuel Macron, and peace and prosperity to the people of France, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

Exactly 237 years ago, Parisians stormed the Bastille fortress, then a prison for political prisoners and a symbol of royal despotism. To mark the occasion, various celebrations and events are held across France, including a military parade on the Champs-Élysées, public festivities, firefighters' balls, fireworks displays, and a variety of cultural events.
