New specialties and fields of study will be introduced at higher education institutions in Turkmenistan during the 2026–2027 academic year, the "Türkmenistan" newspaper reports.

According to an interview published in the publication, an "Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems" specialization will be launched within the bachelor's degree program at the International University of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople. In addition, a new specialization—"Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis"—will be introduced at the Polytechnic Secondary Specialized Educational Institution of the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan.

As noted, the decision to introduce new fields of study was made in light of Turkmenistan's growing economic potential and the need for qualified personnel across various disciplines. In total, 20 new specialties and fields of study will be launched at the country's higher education institutions in the upcoming academic year.
