The city round of the "Ýaňlan, Diýarym!" televised contest for young amateur performers took place in the Turkmen capital, in the square in front of the "White City Ashgabat" monument.
According to the "Turkmenistan" newspaper, ten participants competed in the city stage following qualifying rounds.
The competition jury named Kerem Atabayev, a second-year student at the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, and Soyli Ashirmuradova, an Ashgabat resident and amateur artist, as the winners.
They earned the right to represent Ashgabat in the national round of the televised competition.
The annual "Ýaňlan, Diýarym!" song and music contest for amateur young performers is organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, and regional and city administrations (hakimliks).
