Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Senator Steve Daines of Montana, a member of the United States Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, who has arrived in Ashgabat for a visit, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

As the interlocutors noted, the trade and economic sphere is a promising area for bilateral relations. A positive track record of long-standing partnership with American companies has been established in this field. Over the years, mutually beneficial cooperation has been developed with major U.S. companies on the implementation of important projects in the country.

During the meeting, the Head of State reaffirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to cooperate with the United States in key areas such as the fuel and energy sector, transport, the financial and banking sectors, advanced technologies, and artificial intelligence.

As previously noted, possessing abundant natural resources, Turkmenistan is implementing a strategy to diversify energy supply routes, advocating for the development of mutually beneficial partnerships based on the equal consideration of the interests of producers, consumers, and transit countries.

Cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture is also an important component of Turkmen-American relations. Joint programs in these areas have been implemented for many years. Various scholarly and cultural activities are being conducted in Turkmenistan under the U.S. Department of State’s Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation program.

Noting with satisfaction that Turkmen youth are studying in the U.S. under educational programs and that bilateral contacts between higher education institutions have intensified in recent years, the head of Turkmenistan reaffirmed the country's intention to continue strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties that foster closer relations between peoples, the source reports.
