President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian sent a message to the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, expressing gratitude for his personal attendance at the farewell ceremony for the late Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as well as for the words of condolence addressed to the Iranian people, reports the website khabaronline.ir.

In his message, the Iranian leader noted that the people of Iran would not forget this support from Turkmenistan. Pezeshkian recalled the words of Iran’s late leader stating that relations between the two countries "go beyond good-neighborliness and are akin to kinship ties," and emphasized the importance of further developing friendly and fraternal relations between Iran and Turkmenistan.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty visited Iran on July 3, 2026, to attend the farewell ceremony for the late Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and held talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
