Teachers from Turkmenistan won the international competition of the "Climate Box" initiative

Teachers from Turkmenistan received awards for their outstanding performance in the 3rd International Competition for Teachers to Develop Methodological Materials on Climate Change, organized by the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH) within the framework of the regional "Climate Box" initiative with financial support from the Russian Federation Trust Fund.

UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Narine Saakyan presented the winners with certificates and commemorative gifts on behalf of UNDP in recognition of their valuable contribution to the development of climate education.

The awardees included teachers from School No. 11 in Turkmenabat (1st place), School No. 55 in Ashgabat (2nd place), and School No. 2 in Farap (3rd place), according to UNDP social media.

The jury's recognized methodological developments demonstrate innovative approaches to integrating climate change into education and help inspire children and young people to take conscious action for a sustainable future.

The "Climate Box" is an international interactive educational toolkit that helps educators teach climate change in an engaging and accessible way. In Turkmenistan, the toolkit has been adapted for both Turkmen and Russian languages, has received all necessary national approvals, and is ready for implementation in the educational process.
