Turkmenistan took part in the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the First Congress of Turkic Studies in Baku

Turkmen representatives took part in events held in Baku from 29 June to 1 July to mark the 100th anniversary of the First Congress of Turkic Studies. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.

Within the framework of the celebrations, a series of impressive events took place at the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Centre, including a concert featuring artists from the Turkic world.

Turkmenistan was represented on stage by the "Lachyn" dance, music and folk ensemble of the state-owned enterprise "Turkmenhowayollary", which performed the popular folk dance "Kushtdepdi". The Turkmen artists also took part in a joint performance by the participating countries.

Singers Atajan Kakayev, Begench Moshiev and Gozel Jorayeva showcased contemporary Turkmen song and music, as well as Turkmen folklore, in performances alongside other participants from countries of the Turkic world.

The forum was organised by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan in collaboration with TÜRKSOY.
