President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has sent congratulations to U.S. President Donald Trump and the American people on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, on behalf of the country's people and government as well as on his own behalf. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

In his congratulatory message, the Head of State emphasized that Ashgabat highly values its cooperation with Washington—built on the principles of mutual respect and trust—and reaffirmed its readiness to continue efforts to develop a constructive dialogue and a mutually beneficial partnership in the interests of both peoples.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished Donald Trump good health, happiness, and well-being, and the people of the United States peace, progress, and prosperity.

Independence Day is celebrated in the United States on July 4. It was on this day in 1776 that representatives of the 13 states signed the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, proclaiming the creation of an independent state free from the rule of the British Crown.
