Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova held a meeting with Pavlo Bialyk, Regional Adviser on the Universal Periodic Review at the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as on interaction within the framework of the Universal Periodic Review mechanism.

It was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to a constructive partnership with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and views the Universal Periodic Review as an effective international mechanism for facilitating the further improvement of state policy in the field of human rights.

The parties emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts aimed at developing an inclusive society, ensuring equal opportunities, and strengthening international cooperation in the field of human rights protection.

During the meeting, mutual interest was expressed in further expanding cooperation, including the exchange of experience, expert support, and the implementation of joint initiatives within the framework of collaboration with the UN.
