Turkmenistan will participate in the upcoming summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and the 31st session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP31), both of which are scheduled to take place in Türkiye this autumn. This was announced by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, during a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
According to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, mutual visits and high-level talks between the leaders of the two countries play an important role in the development of political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation. He also thanked the Turkish side for its support of Turkmenistan’s neutral foreign policy course and its initiatives within the UN and other international bodies.
The interlocutors also discussed prospects for cooperation in the energy, transport and logistics, education, and cultural sectors, noting the value of continuing the practice of holding reciprocal Days of Culture and Film Days between the two countries.
