President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung sent a congratulatory message to the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on the occasion of his birthday. The State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports this.

Lee Jae-myung noted that the Republic of Korea and Turkmenistan have established a mutually beneficial partnership and achieved significant progress thanks to the special attention Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has paid to the development of bilateral relations.

The President of the Republic of Korea expressed special appreciation for the comprehensive support provided in June of last year and March of this year in connection with the evacuation of Korean citizens from Iran via the territory of Turkmenistan.Lee Jae-myung emphasized that the warm attitude and decisive actions demonstrated by Turkmenistan attest to its sincere friendship with the Republic of Korea and serve as a clear example of how a neutral state contributes to ensuring international stability and humanitarian solidarity.

The President of Korea also announced that the first "Republic of Korea – Central Asia" summit will take place this year, featuring the first visit to the Republic of Korea by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.Lee Jae-myung expressed confidence that this visit would mark a significant step toward elevating bilateral relations to a new level—much like the three visits by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Korea laid a solid foundation for the development of bilateral cooperation.

Furthermore, Lee Jae-myung expressed deep appreciation for the active support of Korean companies' operations in Turkmenistan and their participation in key projects across various sectors—including shipbuilding and the construction of industrial facilities—describing practical cooperation as a vital foundation for the economic development and prosperity of both nations.
