Following a state visit to Azerbaijan, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev departed for Shusha by car after visiting Fuzuli. This was reported by the “Turkmenistan” newspaper.

Upon arrival in Shusha, the heads of state inspected a residential complex under construction. Serdar Berdimuhamedov also inspected the construction of the Shusha Mosque. The two leaders then visited a photo exhibition dedicated to Heydar Aliyev and Karabakh, after which they toured the city's historical and cultural sites.

During the visit, the presidents visited Jidir Duzu, a famous plain, where guests were treated to a demonstration by Azerbaijani horsemen, a true showcase of the Karabakh breed of horse. As a sign of respect and a symbol of the unwavering Turkmen-Azerbaijani friendship, Serdar Berdimuhamedov was presented with a Karabakh racehorse.
